Hi there! My name is Geoff Samuel.
I currently work as the Lead Animation Tools Engineer looking after the Rigging, Animation and Motion Capture tools and pipelines for Infinity Ward based in sunny LA, California.
I specialize in designing and implementing highly automated and scalable pipelines across systems or tools with very limited connectivity, empowering end-users to achieve the desired animation results quicker and more intuitively. I have found this makes a great foundation to push the technology further and develop groundbreaking results while still using the existing pipeline and framework.
With 14 years of experience, I have gone from running a motion capture studio at the University of Portsmouth to helping create truly breathtaking performance-driven apes at Weta Digital and to drastically speeding up motion capture throughput for Red Dead Redemption 2 at Rockstar Games. This rounded knowledge base and skill set has given me a unique perspective on workflows and pipelines, knowing how to empower artists to have the creative freedom they desire for whilst having the flexibility within the pipeline for iteration.
